We are looking for:

The Composites GBU Safety Technology Director is responsible for incorporation and compliance of specific GBU Composite policies and procedures in addition to Syensqo HSE/environmental systems and standards and act as the key focal point for the GBU incorporating specific technology systems and procedures and will also be primary interface with Syensqo Group HSE.

We count on you for:

  • Incorporation and compliance of GBU to Syensqo safety standards and best practices (Life Saving Rules, Incident reporting etc) and act as key focal point to Syensqo Group HSE.

  • Establish and execute key GBU specific HSE best practices and standards (Flammability, Exotherm, Hand Safety, machine safety and machine technology)

  • Lead key GBU HSE initiatives to ensure they are communicated, resourced and executed (MHA, SafeGuard, Winder Safety, exotherm control, flash prevention and control)

  • Drive standardization, training and execution of key risk assessment processes (MHA, PHA, PSSR, MOC, machine safety, system safety, and ergonomic control implementation)

  • Provide HSE review and sign off of all capital projects for HSE and Environmental compliance.

  • Support the development and succession planning of site HSE professionals and site responsible engineers.

  • Be the GBU Focal point for all serious injuries and near miss incidents and coordinate with Corporate HSE

  • Coordinate and provide Industrial hygiene support for site hygiene assessments and actions.

  • Focal point for GBU HSE management system (RC 14001).

  • Focal point for site emergency response plans.

  • Focal point for environmental compliance.

  • Coordinate and minimize waste disposal costs and recycling programs.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering with emphasis in safety systems. Professional safety certifications (CCPSC, CSP).

  • 10 – 15 years’ experience as an HSE leader in the chemicals/materials business with multiple global facilities.

  • Demonstrated poise and leadership in resolving issues resulting from an emergency situation.

  • Possess a high capability for managing systems and initiatives in a highly networked environment (Site HSE, GBU Site Leaders, Syensqo Group HSE, Composites CMLT).

  • Ability to engage and lead cross functional teams.

  • Resources available to the incumbent include Site HSE, GBU central Engineering, Syensqo Group HSE and outside resources as required.

You will get:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $162,720 to $203,400 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
