We are looking for :

  • A R&I technician within the FCI (Fluorine Organic Chemistry Innovation) team in the field of specialty Organic and Fluorine Chemistry. The mission of the team is to develop sustainable and competitive chemical routes and processes, involving the use of specific raw material such as Fluorine reagents.

  • You will work mainly for the BATMAT platform and your main mission will be to develop Fluorine chemical routes (Proof of concept, data acquisition, sampling), in the HF lab and classic labs as well.

We count on you for :

  • Participating in the design of complex experimental equipment and prepare the operating conditions of the experiments to be carried out in accordance with Solvay HSE rules and procedures.

  • Participating in the design / revamping of our R&I tools

  • Being involved in optimization studies, lab scale developments and data acquisitions prior to transferring the projects to pilot scale

  • Performing accurate mass balances to prepare the scale-up and engineering studies

  • Being interested in process technologies and will ensure a technology monitoring for the team to accompany the evolution of the activities and project needs

  • Carrying out your missions while respecting the quality procedures and milestones within the framework of your position.

  • Adapting your work according to the priorities and constraints of the environment, while respecting the rules and established procedures.

  • Critically and constructively analyze results and methods with a mindset to continuous improvement

  • Participating to the maintenance of the labs and equipments

  • Communicating with your manager and project stakeholders, and reports orally and in writing on your work (Lab Notebook, Production record, operating procedures)

  • Working on the development of ingredients which have very high sustainable stakes for the earth (cleaner mobility, CO2 emission reduction)

  • Involvement in a wide variety of projects and a great diversity of research fields (organic chemistry for several BATMAT ingredients)

You will bring :

  • DUT in organic chemistry (Bac+2) or Licence Pro in chemistry (Bac+3)

  • Experience of >10 years in R&D environment

  • Competencies in organic chemistry

  • Competencies and know how in handling HF

  • sensibility for process engineering

  • Familiar with complex R&I pilot tools

  • Organic and OrganoFluorine synthesis

  • Knowledge on the R&I lab equipment (design, revamping, maintenance)

  • Technical Rigor

  • Problem & Solving skills

  • Knowledge of analytical methods

  • Customer service orientation and strong focus on results

  • Self-confidence and serenity

  • Excellent relational skills and open-mindness for an efficient team work

  • Flexibility and excellent organization to ensure efficiency of FCI lab
